You don’t want to know. My house looks like a tornado hit it. That tornado would be me. My goal this week will be to finish a lot of little projects that have been started but not quite finished. Perhaps mop my floors should be on my to do list too. It’s in need.
I’ve been working on some sewing. Well, more like ironing. I’m am using hemming tape instead to apply the ribbon to some panels.
But I hit a bit of a snag. Hubby hung the rods for me last week. It was very nice of him. I told him to go with the height of the dining room rods. That was a bad I idea. They are looking too low for me in the family room. So they will be getting raised. It will just bug me to no end if I try to live with them like this. My eye will always go to the rod and I will always think they’re too low. So, we’ll just bypass all that undue stress and fix them now. Like how I say ‘we’?
I also want to thank Donna for her sidebar love at this weeks SNS party for my mantel. She sure knows how to make a girl feel special. Thanks Donna! And thanks to everyone who left me such sweet comments. I always love hearing from you.
see ya,
Hi Anita, I can so relate. I'm a woman of many unfinished projects too. But doesn't it feel great when you get them done?
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Lisa x
Don't feel bad about having so many projects in the works.. my entire house has one or another in each room, half finished! It's what we do.. and like you, I told myself to clean tomorrow..haha
ReplyDeleteNice Idea of putting the borders on the towels..
Sandy
i think that tornado has whipped through my house, too. i have lots of projects going on, and even when the storm isn't visible in my house, it's brewing in my head.... the calm before the storm.
ReplyDeleteI am sure it looks just fine. Only you would know about it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your SNS feature. It's good to know I am not the only one who gets bugged by things like that.
ReplyDeleteBugged by the curtains to clarify.
ReplyDeleteAnita, I understand exactly what you are saying!! Good luck with your projects!
ReplyDeleteTwo unfinished slipcovers sit in my LR/DR and one chair is covered in a drop cloth....my sewing machine is on the floor in the corner....a heap of fabric from my clothing blog sitting next to it...and three suitcases stuffed from our trip to the Gulf call out to me 6-7 times a day....PROJECTS? Don't know what you're talking about.
ReplyDeleteHaven't mopped my kitchen floor since September.
All my love,
~K
My house is definitely a tornado, but oh well, that's how it is when things are trying to get done. lol Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeletelove your new header! i know what you mean about the many projects.. i've got 2 BIG ones going right now.
ReplyDeletekimberly.
A tornado touched down here too. I finally cleared the dining room table so we can eat there like civilized people...lol!
ReplyDeleteHope "we" get the rods right! I know exactly what you mean. xo
I usually finish just one project less than I start, so the start number is arbitrary. :) You'll get it all done.
ReplyDeleteThose curtains are great! I like the idea of using hemming tape instead of sewing.
That tornado must've gone straight from your house to mine.
ReplyDeleteI've told myself I need to finish five small projects on the list before I start any of the "funner" ones.
I've got three down, two more to go...... :)
I know what you mean about having lots of little things going on at once! (and needing to mop the floor, but not doing it ). You have a sweet husband to be so willing to hang the rods twice -- not sure mine would do it the second time, well, he probably would, but I'd have to bribe him with brownies or something!
ReplyDelete~Amanda
Girl, you are working hard! Don't get too overwhelmed or you may throw your hands up and do none of them.
ReplyDeleteYa, I do like how you say "we!" That's "we" as in "he"....got it!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard not to get too many started at once. But when you get the bug, it's hard not to.
ReplyDeleteI love the ribbon you are using, great colors. And I love that first photo, great composition and DoF. Heh. Just like flickr commenting. :)
totally get what you mean..on both topics! so many projects, so little time! {or money} and the low rod would drive me nuts too! {fyi... i'm having a similar issue w/ my family room drapes, only i can't blame my hubs for it.. nope, this one is all on me! have to post it soon!}
ReplyDeleteOH! and i love the ribbon on the drapes.. can't wait to see it finished! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the feature!! You sound like me, so many projects, so little time! :) I am being lazy today, kids are off school due to wonderful weather. Love the curtains and I totally understand about how things like that would bug you, I move things all the time, even if it is only an inch! My hubby thinks I am nuts! :) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThe tornado visited my house as well!
ReplyDeleteLove what you've done with the curtains!
I've had the tornado here as well over the past week. I need to figure out which project to finish first. I am not getting anything accomplished this way. I start something and brainstorm on another idea and off I go. I like the hemming tape you are using on your panels, Anita. Great colors.
ReplyDeleteI've got a roll of hemming tape and panels sitting in the laundry room that need attention - I need some of your motivation.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love what you did with the panels! The hemming tape you chose looks SO pretty on them. :) And I completely know what you mean about too many projects at once...our house looks like a construction site right now! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you by the way for stopping by my blog and saying hello! :) Well, now I am off to catch up on your recent posts...I hope you have a wonderful night, and a great Tuesday!
Blessings,
Jenni

I hear you on the projects Anita! I started the whole beach cottage mirror thingy because I was re-organizing the office space... I found those doors leaning against the wall in there and got a bright idea, so went into the other room and delved into that project, which led to moving furniture, which led to... aye... more work!!! lol! But we were inside most the weekend- the snow was crazy - It just kept dumping and dumping!! I am ready for warm weather!! :)
ReplyDeleteha h aha!!! my house is the same way. Oh, sure. I posted pictures, but not of the dining room table...or my room...or....well. You get the idea. Can't wait to see the curtains up..

I'm living in that same tornado! The drapes look beautiful! I love the wonderful warm feeling in your header...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of us are in the same boat! I get focused on one thing for awhile and then I think about something else to do and before you know it, a houseful of uncompleted projects!
ReplyDeleteI love how your curtains are looking. The ribbon is a wonderful addition to the panels. Look forward to seeing them hanging in their new position!
Jane
I totally get that- our guest room is just terrifying with about 20 projects in various stages of finishing. I love your coastal style- we just gave our master bedroom( which is a rental) a facelift at making a headboard for only $10 - and no brackets or drilling into the wall necessary. All we needed was some hot glue and a staple gun! I've put up a tutorial in case anyone's interested at www.sugarandspackle.com
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Margaret
To be creative is to be messy!! We are tornadoes of creativeness...LOL! I love that you used tape!! :)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS blog...wow!
ReplyDeleteI will be back!
Lisa
Good luck with the curtains! Sounds like the right move to get them where you want now instead of having them drive you crazy :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about numerous projects scattered....a lot of mine are still in my head which is a bit distracting?!?!!
Have a great week.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with tons of unfinished projects.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the feature! I'm way behind on my blog reading, answering emails even, so I'm going to keep on scrolling to catch up.
I love how this ribbon looks on the curtains. Classy and simple.
ReplyDeleteAngie @ Linen + Verbena
Love the curtains. I made some the same way. Used the iron on tape. That's about as much of a seamstress I can be. Rehanging the curtain rod. Yep, that would be me too. Things like that drive me nuts so might as well go ahead and fix it.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed catching up on your blog this morning. So many great posts! Loved it all! You have a great sense of style.
Have a nice day!
Tammy
Lovely blog. And I so love the line in this post that confesses, "That tornado would be me" ;)
ReplyDeleteThat mantle is gorgeous and your pictures beautiful so your house can't be all THAT bad!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know just how you feel!! I always start a million projects all at once:)
ReplyDeleteThat ribbon is gorgeous and I can't wait to see what you are doing. As far as projects, I am all over the place.
