What a Difference 3 Days Make

The sunshine state? I think not. Not lately anyway. As we drove over the bridge to try to get some shots of the incoming storm, the fog started rolling in.

We got to the beach just as some kids were running to the water with their surfboards. It was still early and the waves were still building.  Compared to other coasts I’m sure our gulf coast waves look laughable.

Let’s not forget safety first. Because we do have one mean undertow.

I was getting frustrated when my lens kept fogging up from all the mist. My hair was not enjoying it either. I hung around to see if the kids would get up. He did for a bit and I got this blurry shot.

Now just a mere 3 days ago we had glorious weather. It was still windy and chilly but the sun was actually out and shining.  We stopped at the beach after the auction for a few photos.

It was a bit on the hazy side but it gave a nice pink hue in the distance. The waves were light and frothy.

Come back sun.

I would like to thank Tammy Lee for passing this sweet award on to me the other day. Tammy blogs over at Bliss and Folly and she is also one of the nine muses over at Mortal Muses. You have to stop by and see her adorable puppies. They will melt your heart. Both are wonderful blogs to visit for gorgeous photography and inspiration to get your creative juices flowing. What a bunch of talented women they all are. I am still in the early learning stages of my photography but I hope that I will be able to produce images as breath taking as they can. I recently did a post on oh so fascinating facts about myself so I won’t do a repeat. You can find them here if you happened to miss it. Thanks again Tammy. :)

see ya,

  1. Even with the fog, the beach looks amazing! I'd be out there with my boogie board. Okay, maybe not but the thought is good. Thanks for sharing these photos, Anita! Look forward to more sunny shots!

Congrats on the award! I'll pop over! :D

  2. ohhh, those clear day photos are sooo beautiful! You lucky, lucky girl!

  3. Hi Anita-

I don't care what the weather, well maybe not a hurricane, but I love love love the ocean. Thanks for bringing it a little bit closer to me today.
    My best- Diane

  4. Wow, that first shot is crazy! Then the last shot's beautiful!

I'm wondering, do you edit your pics much or are the ones you post SOOC?

  5. It doesn't matter what the weather--the ocean is always beautiful. Your pictures are wonderful.

  6. Beautiful photos Anita! I would love to be there right now! :) It is amazing how quickly the weather changes, we can hit all four season in a week here in Michigan! :) Hope the storm wasn't too bad for you. Stay safe!

    Congrats on the awards!! :)

  7. Anita, I love Crystal Beach, Seaside, Rosemary Beach and all the little towns along the gulf. You don't want to be there in a hurricane though. There were guys out surfing just hours before Ivan came ashore. Our house was hit with twenty foot waves.

  8. I'm sure it's nicer when it's warm, but I envy you anyway. You get to look at that on a regular basis! Lucky!

  9. Great pics! I love the gulf... sigh. :)

  10. You got some great shots Anita. What a dedicated blogger you are risking life and limb (and beach hair!!) just for us! Thank you!

    Best wishes always,

  11. Yes, I'm missing the sunshine we were having, but to me — there's never a bad day at the beach. The sky may be gray and dreary right now, but we know how quickly that can change here in Florida. Does make for some interesting shots though. As long as I'm near the beach, it's okay with me, lol.

  12. your beach shots are amazing. I'm a big fan of your beach fence shots. that last one is beautiful. I can see that I'll be begging a photo trade with you soon.

  13. woah! your beaches are gorgeous...they stretch forever and ever!! that surf looks pretty rough to me.

  14. Oh, I think the beach looks amazing, fog and all! And your pictures are beautiful, by the way. :)

I hope you are having a great weekend! :)
