Look what Santa brought me! Okay, it wasn't from Santa. And my mail lady brought it. But it was like an early Christmas gift. A couple of weeks ago I won a giveaway from Freckled Laundry. I was just thrilled! So when it arrived on my doorstep I was so excited. I wish you could have smelled the package. Even before the box was opened the heavenly scent of lavender was filling the air. I'm sure the mail lady just wanted to take a nap after carrying that around with her all day. Jami was overly generous with her giveaway. She is just the sweetest blogger ever. If you haven't ever visited her blog you really should take the time. She also has her new Vintage Market set up. You'll just have to stop by there and see what that is all about.
I received a lavender filled pillow made out of vintage french fabric and a smaller sachet with natural stripes and filled with lavender too. They both came from Maria at Dreamy Whites.
I also got a huge square of lavender soap which came from Ruth at The Beautiful Life. Oh the scent is amazing!
And, (I know, there's more), a sheet music wreath ornament made by Marian at Miss Mustard Seed. I loved the size of it and I new right away where I could put it.
I had already painted this frame white couple of weeks ago. It looks like wood but it's not, it's just plastic. I never got around to glazing it but I didn't want to wait. So, here's what I did. I can always glaze later.
I took the lovely artwork that was originally in the frame and wrapped it in burlap. I had some on the kitchen table that I had used on our huge Thanksgiving table. Yes, I know that was over a month ago.
So I cut a piece off so fast that I didn't check on how it looked. It has a worn and aged look which is good. Then I just....
used some duck tape to secure it to the back. Classy I know.
I had a small upholstery tack that I poked through and secured the back with one of those lapel pin dohickies. I'm sure it has a name. Or you can use a piece of cork. Something to keep in it place. And that's it. Took all of about 10 minutes. I love it! I love it all. And the lavender pillow is right next to my computer so it is helping me keep calm throughout this stressful and busy week! Thank you so much Jami!
What are you all doing to stay sane this week? Or have you thrown in the towel already?
Blogger is acting up so I'm hoping this post will turn out correct. The font seems to be wacky.

see ya later,
What a fun giveaway to win! Lavender would maybe help me stay sane. I'm mostly taking a lot of hot baths. And sometimes some sleeping pills. Plus I refused to bake, and I'm holding firm on that refusal.
ReplyDeleteThe wreath look perfect there.
Looks. With and S!!!
ReplyDeleteI give up.
ReplyDeleteI love lavender. I can't get enough of it but right now for some strange reason I don't have much around except for hand lotion. I need to get some lavender oil and do my own thing with it. Give me lavender and new age spa music and I'm in heaven. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteGreat prizes to win. Do you know about Live Writer? It will save your sanity. When I did the linky party I had to use Blogger and it was so frustrating. You can do a post on Live Writer in a few minutes easily and it is free.
ReplyDeleteAnita, Congrats on your win. What a fabulous early Christmas present.

Wow, you are a lucky duck to win all that great stuff. I love jamie @ freckled Laundry, she's the best. Turns out she only lives a couple hours from me. Someday we're going to meet for coffee when I'm down that way for work.
