Black and White with a tad of red

I am joining Tracy’s Black and White photo party. I had planned on trying to shoot some pictures with my camera setting on black and white but I never got around to that. So I had some fun with converting some of my color shots.

I snapped ones below when hubby and I went for lunch. The restaurant is on one of the bayous nearby. We had some great Mahi sandwiches.

This is an older shot that I took in Jacksonville from my sister’s house. I’ve always liked it.

Jax Bridge

I had to throw in one of Henry. All of the ones above were of a dock! So not planned.

That was a lot of fun. I had not played in photo shop in awhile. Thanks for bringing me back to it Tracy.  How do you all feel about black and whites? Do like the simplicity of black and white or do you prefer color?

  7. The flag one is really neat. The red is a great pop of color. The rope has great contrast, but that sun and bridge stole my heart! Thanks for joining. PS I always love Henry pics too.

  28. I think I prefer black & white photography, although, I like sunsets and flowers in color. The first photo is my favorite but they are all awesome! You could sell these, Anita!

Oh, and the running joke with Mahi Mahi, is we will only have the Mahi because we aren't that hungry :)

    Have a great night! xx

  30. Great shots. I like the way black and white allows you to focus on details that would have been missed in a color shot. Like the light reflecting on the water in the 4th shot. My fav of this collection is the rope photo, love the texture and contrast of the the circle of rope on the lines of the dock. Of course, Henry is a doll, it's always good to see Henry.

  31. Ooolala, love the depth and subtlety of these and the suddenness of the red flag in first shot.

  32. Great photos! There's something magical about black and white when it comes to capturing the true essence of things. The coiled rope photo is probably my favorite- the framing and shadows are just gorgeous!

  33. oh ya ya, show off with your fantastic photoshop skills! You remodel furniture, decorate like a pro, and you photoshop! Wanna run away together? I promise I won't make you sit through every episode of General Hospital. Just the scenes between Brenda and Sonny :)
The pictures are marvellous by the way.
