How Many Projects Can One Start?

You don’t want to know. My house looks like a tornado hit it. That tornado would be me. My goal this week will be to finish a lot of little projects that have been started but not quite finished. Perhaps mop my floors should be on my to do list too. It’s in need.

ribbon

I’ve been working on some sewing. Well, more like ironing. I’m am using hemming tape instead to apply the ribbon to some panels.

But I hit a bit of a snag. Hubby hung the rods for me last week. It was very nice of him. I told him to go with the height of the dining room rods. That was a bad I idea. They are looking too low for me in the family room. So they will be getting raised. It will just bug me to no end if I try to live with them like this. My eye will always go to the rod and I will always think they’re too low. So, we’ll just bypass all that undue stress and fix them now. Like how I say ‘we’?

I also want to thank Donna for her sidebar love at this weeks SNS party for my mantel. She sure knows how to make a girl feel special. Thanks Donna! And thanks to everyone who left me such sweet comments. I always love hearing from you.

see ya,

Weekend Fun and Some Exciting News

First up I have some exciting news to share. My little recessed magazine rack made the Top 10 over at The DIY Club's monthly contest!! I was so thrilled to find that out. Especially when you see all the other great projects that made it too. You should go and take a look. I am honored to be among so much talent. Perhaps you could leave a little comment and spread a little love. :)

We had a really nice weekend. Son #2 came for a short visit with his girlfriend. They got to town just in time to see son #3's band march. They had to do an FBA rating thing and got all superiors. Well done Eagle Pride!

Then on sunday we went out on the boat and did a little fishing. There was not a cloud in the sky.

We were 12 miles off shore. We went to a reef so there were a couple of other boats. I was glad to see that. These guys hooked into something big. Look at how low the back of the boat got.

There was an eerie calmness about the water. I was just saying it looked creepy. Like you should see a shark fin gliding through the water. And low and behold one appeared. Wish I had gotten a shot of it. Then this guy showed up. Thank goodness for the dolphins. He hung out around the boat the whole time. He must have brought us luck.

Because this is what we brought home. More was caught but they were under the size limit so back they went. One grouper, 4 red snapper and 1 vermilion snapper.
It was a great day on the water. The water was so clear and it sparkled. Sad to see the two of them go back to Atlanta. Happy that his girlfriend was able to catch her very first fish. It was pretty exciting! Hope you all had a great weekend too.

see you later,

Thanks again Tracy! I think I need to drag out my Fall boxes now. Perhaps doing so will force some cool weather our way. Am I the only one not decorating yet?

The Highlight of my Day (or two)

I am so flattered and excited. I have been highlighted by two separate blogs. The Inspired Room and Craft Gossip. It just made my day!

Melissa from The Inspired Room emailed me to let me know how much she liked my striped planter and that she put it on her tumblr page. I'll fess up, I had to google what tumblr was. I was not familiar with it. But then I found her link and saw all the wonderful people she has included and I was so honored to be among them. Melissa has such a wonderful blog. She was one of the first blogs I subscribed to back when I didn't have a blog of my own. I didn't even know what following was at the time. Her blog is chock full of beautiful inspirational photos and ideas. She also talks about "authentic living". I like this description, "It is finding satisfaction, contentment and fulfillment in the present." That is what we should all strive for don't you think? Thank you again Melissa!

Then I get an email from Amanda over at Craft Gossip letting me know she linked up my front porch. Craft Gossip is full of many different craft ideas from sewing to scrapbooking to recycled crafts.  And, and... it has a new category called Home and Garden. Amanda is heading that up and it looks like it's going to be a great source to find all the wonderful Home and Garden projects going on out there. You should hop on over and see what's going on over there and help her spread the word about this great new channel. I think it will be great. I can't possibly keep up with each and every blog that I see with great ideas, as much as I would like to. So, this will be a great compilation of ideas all put together in one blog. Fantastic! Thanks again Amanda!
